  • PLEASE Read each of the following carefully in regards to a Foster's Responsibility for the Care of their foster animals.

  • I am bringing a pet into Apollo and acknowledge that I am fully committed to keeping the animal until adopted. Due to the current situation in the state of Texas with the overpopulation of animals and the number of animals being surrendered and dumped, I acknowledge that Apollo does not have the room to move my foster. Should I become incapable of fostering until adopted, the animal will be returned to me placing ownership and responsibility in my care.*
  • Foster will provide compassionate and loving care for whatever foster pet is taken into the home as long as necessary until the foster pet has been successfully placed in a permanent home. This care includes—but is not limited to—adequate food, water, shelter, and medication when required. Foster agrees to abide by Apollo's foster protocol and processes as outlined in Foster Handbook.*
  • Foster will be patient and tolerant during the transition period (which can last from a few days to a few months). Foster is prepared to work with the foster pet on basic training, such as housebreaking. Foster will keep the foster pet primarily inside the home; dogs will not be outside without proper adult supervision.*
  • Foster understands that foster pets may not be fully vaccinated or altered at the time of placement in your home. For this reason we require all current pets to be fully vaccinated and altered, if medically able. It is the fosters responsibility to submit spay/neuter request when dog is cleared to be fixed. Rabies can be obtained with a voucher at TCAP or Texas Paw Care. Rabies can also be administered at the time of spay/neuter. No foster pet can be adopted without Rabies or being altered, unless under 6 months of age or other medical circumstances approved by the admin team.*
  • Foster will notify ASR if any medical treatment becomes necessary during the time caring for ones foster pet and will see that the animal gets necessary medical treatment as soon as he/she needs it. The foster will not hesitate to provide necessary emergency care. Please call a person from the management team ASAP. Foster must remain flexible and help get the animal to routine appointments if arrangements can’t be made by ASR. Medical Request for appointment must be filled and you must go to approved veterinarian unless other arrangements have been made. Emergency ER we prefer is Denton County Animal ER.*
  • Foster will administer monthly heartworm preventative to your foster pets. If Foster cannot donate the medication, ASR will provide it. Prevention can be picked up at the rescue center 7 days a week 1170 Dove Hill Rd Justin TX 76247.*
  • Foster will immediately notify ASR of any problems or difficulties resulting from caring for foster pets.*
  • Foster will make certain that foster dogs are wearing a collar that securely fits with a proper identification tag securely fastened to the collar with a readable name and phone number on the tag. Apollo Tag can be obtained from the facility in Justin or from Danielle Stewart*
  • Foster agrees to keep the cat or dog leashed outside whenever he/she is not in a securely fenced area or carrier.*
  • Foster will never leave foster dogs outside in a yard or elsewhere without adequate adult supervision. Foster will not allow strange people or animals, (people or animals unknown to the dog) to approach the dog without being in full control of the dog and the situation.*
  • If the Foster contributes money toward the care of their foster pet, for which Foster requires reimbursement, Foster will submit any and all receipts directly to ASR within 30 days of payment. Please request the reimbursement link from the foster coordinator. If Receipts are not provided within 30 days of purchase the money spent will be considered a donation to ASR and no reimbursement will be provided. However, we will provide you with a tax receipt for your donations. Food, treats, and supplies can be picked up at the rescue 7 days a week 1170 Dove Hill Rd, Justin TX 76247. If you are unable to make it to Justin, please reach out to the foster coordinators to assist.*
  • Foster will work cooperatively with ASR to find the foster pet a permanent, loving home as quickly as possible. If Foster decides he/she would like to adopt the foster pet, Foster understands and accepts that the procedure for adoption will be the same for him/her as it would be for any other applicant, and Foster will be asked to sign the same contract and pay the same fee to ASR that any adopter would. Adoption by Foster must be completed within 10 days of deciding to adopt. Foster understands and accepts that Foster may not keep the animal with out the approval and consent of ASR. Adoption fees are only waived on special circumstances.*
  • Foster understands and accepts that prospective adopters may wish to visit the pet before adopting him/her. Foster is willing to allow people to meet the animal either at his/her home or at a mutually convenient place. You will receive Pre-Approval applications that have been screened by Apollo Admin Team. We also support the final decision you make when placing your foster pet. You know the pet you are fostering and know what home it needs.*
  • Foster understands and accepts that the dog is and shall remain the sole property of ASR. Foster further understands and acknowledges that Foster does not have any right or authority to keep or place the foster animal in other homes or with other individuals. Moving the animal or placing him/her in permanent homes can only be done with the full knowledge and approval of ASR.*
  • Foster understands and accepts that ASR makes no representations or warranties concerning the health, temperament, behavior, and/or previous ownership of the animal.*
  • Foster agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ASR from any direct or consequential damages arising from this Foster Care Agreement. This includes any and all manner of actions and causes of actions, suits, debts, dues, accounts, bonds, covenants, agreements, judgments, claims, and demands whatsoever arising from or relating to the adoption, placement, and /or possession of the animal.*
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING. These animals are in a rescue group because for one reason or another, previous owners no longer could or wished to care for them. The main purpose of Apollo Support & Rescue is to find responsible and reliable homes for all animals placed in our care. Fostering is a very important decision and one that not only affects your family, but the animal you decide to foster. Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized each year because people do not seriously consider the care and maintenance of having a pet. Time and attention are major factors that need to be considered when taking an animal into your home. If behavior problem arises, the foster agrees to contact Apollo Support & Rescue to discuss the issues. By submitting this form, you agree to have read and understood the above information. You are certifying that the questions have been answered truthfully and in full. False information or misrepresentation will result in your disqualification to foster from Apollo Support & Rescue, and / or the removal of your foster pet. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to help you.*
