We are excited to share a valuable career and professional development opportunity for diverse research scholars in the biomedical sciences hosted by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Recruiting Committee at Sanford Burnham Prebys.
The Rising Stars Symposium will highlight the biomedical research of exceptional:
Late-stage doctoral students who are less than two years from completing their Ph.D. program, and
Early-stage postdoctoral researchers who are no more than two years post-degree.
Scholars from underrepresented groups in the sciences are strongly encouraged to apply as we strive to increase the visibility of diverse future leaders in biomedical research.
Rising Stars will be invited to give an in-person, oral presentation at Sanford Burnham Prebys between April 27 and April 29, 2022. Travel, lodging, and meals will be paid by Sanford Burnham Prebys.
In addition to providing a platform for Rising Stars to present their work, they will participate in a professional development session and network with students, postdoctoral researchers and faculty. Rising Stars will tour laboratories, core facilities, and have an opportunity to interview with principal investigators who have open postdoctoral positions.
