To prepare for the appointment
- I recommend closing all the doors to the bedrooms and of fices so they your pet(s) can't hide under.
- It's helpful if the environment is quiet for the kitty’s as I'm a new person and they may be a little unsure as to what is going on. I like to use my inside voice to communicate during the exam, and sometimes not talking to them at all helps.
- I like to work on the floor in the bathroom. The smaller room is less distracting to them and they can walk around freely without me having to restrain them in one spot in a bigger room. Sometimes putting them in the sink helps.
- I use towels that are sprayed with a pheromone that helps to calm them.
