Babysitter Clinic
This clinic is intended for boys and girls ages 10-18. The clinic covers a variety of topics pertaining to fire and general safety issues associated with babysitting. The clinic is 6 hours and is covered in 2 sessions. Students must attend both sessions. The cost of the clinic is $30.
Basic First Aid Course
A first aid certification card will be issued at the completion of this course. The certification lasts for 2 years. Learn how to treat routine injuries such as scrapes, bruises and minor burns. Students will, also, learn what to do for more serious injuries such as cuts, broken bones, stroke, heart attack, etc. until the ambulance arrives. The course is 3-4 hours. The cost of the course is $25.
CPR Course
By sucessfully completing a Mokena Fire CPR course, the participant will receive a CPR card from the American Health and Safety Institute (AHSI). The CPR certification lasts for 2 years. The course is 3 1/2 hours. AHSI follows the guidelines and recommendations of the American Heart Association, and has been recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health as an approved CPR curriculum. The Mokena Fire CPR courses meets the criteria for Community and Healthcare Provider certification. If you are a healthcare provider (physician, nurse, paramedic, etc), the cost of the Healthcare CPR certification is $50. The cost for a general public/community CPR card is $40.
