As a head or assistant coach in the Farragut Baseball Inc. (FBI) League, you must be willing to wear many hats and take on certain responsibilities as a representative of FBI. In addition to coaching, your time and talents may be called upon to be a grounds-keeper, construction worker, painter, garbage collector, fund-raiser, etc., to further assist fellow coaches and the league as a whole. You will be expected to attend work days, league functions and meetings, etc., as outlined and set by FBI. We strongly encourage you to involve any and all team parents to assist you with any tasks that will benefit the players and the coaches as more hands make less work.
Starting in the Hank Aaron (7U) Division and above, you are also required to secure a paid sponsor for your team for each Spring season and/or as indicated and outlined by FBI. The Board can provide assistance and/or further directions for new coaches to the League or to any others that need additional help in securing a team sponsor.
PLEASE NOTE:
Coaches and parents will conduct themselves so as to create a positive role model for all players, on and off the field. Umpires will have complete control of all games. Coaches may inquire or ask the umpire about rules, but baseball judgement calls will not be questioned. Questions from parents related to any rules should be directed to the head coach of their team. Abusive behavior and language of any type will not be tolerated by coaches, players, parents, or spectators. An ejection by an umpire will result in an automatic one (1) game suspension by FBI and that coach’s actions will be reviewed by the Board to see if additional action is needed. The League President and/or Farragut Baseball Inc. Board Members have the authority to eject and/or suspend a coach or parent (including dismissal from field premises) if these rules are not followed and unacceptable behavior is shown on or off the field. Two (2) ejections or continued disciplinary issues will result in additional action up to and including loss of coaching privileges, dismissal from coaching for the remainder of the current season (including post season), and any future seasons at FBI.
As the FBI League, we greatly appreciate your support and in our mission to help further the learning, understanding, and fun for all players to experience in the game of baseball. You will have the opportunity to make a great impact on young players who might not otherwise have the chance to play baseball!
If you have any questions, please email the appropriate age division league commissioner and/or the league president.
By signing below, you are indicating that you have read, understand, and agree to the above terms as set forth by Farragut Baseball Inc. and your willingness to become a volunteer baseball coach.
