THE Devonport A.R.E.A ACTING PROGRAM

Welcome to Term 4, 2026 of our Acting Program! This year, we are excited to offer a broader range of acting and industry experiences for our students. We’ll continue building foundational skills through improv, script work, and theatre games, but we’ll also introduce one-off workshop-style lessons exploring different areas of acting and theatre, including script writing, film, makeup, musical theatre dance, and more.
For Term 4, our focus will be in preparing for the 2026 End of Year Showcase!
We also have some of our students participating in the Don River Railway Hallween event, which will be a lot of fun!
Classes Offered:
STAGE 1 SESSIONS – Beginners / Play-based performance classes
STAGE 2 SESSIONS – Intermediate / Focused acting and industry knowledge
SATGE 3 SESSIONS - Intermediate / Focused on specialised dramatic concepts and techniques

Stage 3 Term 4 2026 Focus:
This term will focus on the creation of a short film written and produced by their mentor.
Students will learn not only their scripts but the full process from start to finish - from pre-production to post production.
During the term students will become familiar with a range of production terms and resources such as shot lists, storyboards, foley sound, and more.
To assist with their on screen characters students will refer back to the teachings of practitioner Uta Hagen to solidify their characters and confidence.
