Mutual Aid Vehicle Share Program

The Mutual Aid Vehicle Share Program is available to mutual aid groups who are providing service to the community and are in need of safe, reliable transportation. It is meant as a resource to make mutual aid work more accessible while distributing water, food, supplies and more. In order to make this program more equitable for multiple organizational use, vehicles are available for use on a day-by-day basis. If you do need to use the van for multiple days, you can submit a request, but it must be parked at the designated parking spot at ADX every evening. We cannot guarantee that multiple day use will be approved, but we will try to fulfill your request to the best of our ability.

This vehicle is for the use of multiple people and organizations. We cannot guarantee these vehicles for multi-day and they are not intended for overnight use. This is to ensure equitable use for all folks who are in need of vehicle support. While this vehicle does not operate in the same way as a rental vehicle, you may request to use it for a task that takes place weekly. If you have a major distribution and are in need of multi-day or possible overnight use, please use the comment section and we will follow up to discuss your needs.

Please indicate if you are able to donate any additional gas usage during your trip before turning the vehicle back in or if you will need support from DSP. Each vehicle will have a full tank upon pick-up. (Gas cards can be arranged if monetary support is needed in purchasing more gas).

Driver Expectations:

For the safety of all drivers and community members, each vehicle must be maintained to the following standards. In general - please return our vehicles in the state you received them in! There will be cleaning supplies provided for sanitizing and disinfecting, including disposable gloves and masks. We will expect the following checklist to be completed upon return of the vehicle:

-Vehicle is parked only within legal parking parameters at all times. If you are parking downtown, send a text to *this number* and you will have access to Parking Kitty. Any parking tickets will be the driver's responsibility.

-Steering wheel, dashboard, glove box, seatbelt, and window/door controls must be wiped down with Clorox wipes as well as Lysol. These can be wiped down with microfiber cloth which will also be provided. Do not use Lysol on the touch screen.

-If cargo compartments are used for any loading/unloading, the entire area must be disinfected with Lysol spray and wiped down.

-Masks need to be worn at all times if there are multiple people in the van.

-Any fees and receipts must be captured for reimbursement by Don't Shoot Portland. Screenshot these images and send them to DSPDX with details of the fees incurred during your task.

-The final step before returning the vehicle is to take it to a car wash. Please detail the car accordingly in regards to your use. We will reimburse these services with the receipt.

- The vehicle must be returned to its assigned parking space at ADX and the keys returned to their location.
