  • TRANSITION TO PUREES

Around 4-5 months, a child usually starts eating purees. We ask that you introduce any new foods at home before updating your child’s Infant Feeding Plan. Aim to wait 3-4 days between introducing new foods to be sure your child has no reactions or allergies. As you introduce new foods and there are no adverse reactions, please let us know, and we will start serving those foods as puree to your child the following Monday.

    PUREE OPTIONS

Below is a list of potential purees SoulShine offers, based upon season and availability of produce. Purees will only contain the ingredients listed, no spices or seasonings.

  • TRANSITION TO SOULSHINE-MADE MEALS

When your child has mastered purees and is ready to move to the next step, you should start introducing solid foods at home. Once your child is able to tolerate whole foods at home, we will start serving those at SoulShine. Your child must be able to sit in a feeding chair, grasp the food, and feed themselves.

Meals will be served in an infant-friendly manner. For example, if salad is listed on the menu and consists of lettuce, we would serve steamed vegetables and/or toppings in the infant classrooms. Or if the dressing for a meal consists of honey, the infant classroom will not receive that component.

Please note that once your child is approved to eat SoulShine-made meals, the meals may include dairy, wheat, eggs, herbs, and spices. SoulShine is a Nut-Free facility.

If your child has a sensitivity and/or allergies, please alert your location director and submit an Allergy Action Plan from your physician.

  • APPROVAL FOR SOULSHINE MEALS

Your child will not be fed the SoulShine weekly menu items until we receive parental approval, via this document. Please note your approval, and sign and submit below.
