Each year, Bodies in Motion Dance School produces a professional dance performance, providing students the opportunity to showcase their talents to the local community. After over 24 years of successful productions, including sold-out shows at the Sheraton in Port Douglas from 2016-2022, the school has outgrown local venues. Due to rising costs, in 2023 we transitioned to the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), offering students the chance to perform in a world-class venue. Our first production at CPAC was a huge success, and we look forward to continuing there in the future.
For our Ready Set Dance students, participation is simplified: they are only required to perform in the matinee show, and their dress rehearsal takes place on the same day just before the performance. This helps reduce the time commitment, as we understand that younger children can become very tired over the course of an entire weekend.
While participation in the end-of-year performance is optional, it provides incredible benefits, such as building confidence, teamwork, and a sense of achievement. We respect families who choose not to participate, but we encourage all students to consider the enriching experience of being involved. Non-participating students can still attend classes and learn the routines with their peers.
