Role as a foster carer

Terms and conditions
1. Your services are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a volunteer, and without any express or implied promise of salary, compensation or any kind whatsoever.

2. My services are furnished without any employment-type benefits, including employment insurance programs, worker's compensation accrual in any form, holiday or sick leave.

3. I understand that ANIMAL RESCUE SYDNEY LTD (hereafter known as ANIMAL RESCUE SYDNEY) may terminate my services as a volunteer at any time at it's discretion.

4. I will notify ANIMAL RESCUE SYDNEY immediately of any change to the contact details recorded in my application.
Adoption Process
Our Adoption Process:

The adoption process is quite simple and easy :)

You will be assigned a foster coordinator who will be your point of contact.

1) Interested adopters will complete the adoption form. The completed forms will be reviewed by our team.

An Animal Rescue Sydney team member will contact interested adopters and answer any questions they have/ask any further questions

2) We ask that foster carers contact suitable adopters to schedule an in person meeting and video call.

3)Before and after the meeting, we ask that foster carers discuss what they think of the family with their foster coordinator. Their foster coordinator can also be present during these meetings.

3) A team member will contact the most suited family to conduct a home check of your home/property via video call or in person.

4) Once approved, the adoption family will be emailed a link to sign our Adoption Agreement, complete ownership transfer papers and make your adoption donation.

5) we ask that the foster carer contact the family to arrange a time to collect your their new furry family member!

Health and Care
We provide some essentials and assistance throughout the foster process.

Foster carers are personally responsible for any and all financial expenses that are incurred while fostering a pet/s.

Prior to adoption, all Animal Rescue Sydney animals have completed their intial vet work including health & dental checks, microchip, desexing, worming/flea treatments, initial vaccinations, and any urgent medical and/or behavioural treatments.

We ask that foster carers transport their pet/s to and from vet visits and any other necessary appointments. Our team will assist where possible.

Foster carers are expected to have safe and secure transportation in case of any emergencies.

Some rescue cats/kittens can become quite nervous around strangers and in new situations. Some cats/kittens can start displaying different behaviours in response to changes (e.g. hissing, hiding, scratching, spraying, attacking other pets) . How do you plan to overcome this?
