• Cape Fear Botanical Garden BioBlitz

    April 30th 10am – 12pm
  • A bioblitz is a celebration of biodiversity, where volunteers help trained educators and scientists find as many species as possible in one place on one day. Participants of all ages can learn techniques for observing and collecting plant and animal data. You never imagined how much life is all around us until you start looking. We’ll have pond dipping classes, insect collection, birding and more. Participants of all ages are welcome!

If you’d like to be able to enter your data immediately, you can download the free iNaturalist app for your phone. Families with children may also consider using the free EcoExplore App which allows children to earn points and prizes for pictures they submit. We will also have paper data sheets available. Water and snacks will be available for volunteers.
