The Arc of California is seeking to expand its Board of Directors with individuals who are committed to working on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Having recently completed a 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, one of our main objectives is to add members to the Board who represent the diversity of all the citizens we serve, as well as those who possess the skills, experience, and personal connections that will contribute to achievement of our strategic goals. We appreciate your interest and participation in the board selection process, which is vital to our future success. The Board of Directors meets three times a year. Currently, we are meeting via conference call or Zoom. However, it has been our practice to meet twice in Sacramento with the third meeting at one of our chapters in Central or Southern California. Board members serve for two years. The time commitment includes three to four days of meetings and approximately five hours per month depending on the assigned committee or task force. Each board member volunteers for a committee to ensure the preservation of our system of service and supports. In addition, each Spring we host a Public Policy Conference in Sacramento, which benefits from the active participation of Board members.
