    Are you looking for a skill to use for Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award? Well look no further because here is your opportunity to learn to drive a club powerboat and complete the skills module of Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and for those who reaching the required standard they will be awarded RYA Power Level 2. Please note that the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme will not recognise RYA Powerboat course as a skill for Silver or Gold Awards due to the length of the course.

    To take part you must be enrolled with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme undertaking the Bronze Award and you will be required to provide your Duke of Edinburgh Award Identity number. The training will involve both theory and practical elements and will be delivered in two hour blocks on the following evenings:

    09/05/2022,23/05/2022, 07/06/2022, 21/06/2022,
    07/07/2022, 21/07/2022, 07/08/2022, 05/09/2022

    If you wish to take part you must commit to complete every session listed above. If you miss just one session you will not have completed sufficient hours to fulfil the Duke of Edinburgh Award minimum hour requirements and it will not be possible to sign off the skill section.

    The cost of the course is just £40 which includes an RYA Powerboat Logbook and Certificate (assuming you reach the required standard). To register please complete the form below. Applications will close on 24 April.

  • To complete this scheme the candidate must attend on all the course dates

  • Medical Information

  • I the parent/guardian give permission to Dell Quay Sailing Club to administer any treatment and or medication when or if necessary. Further, if the case arises I authorise you to take my son/daughter to hospital and give my full permission for any treatment required, to be carried out in accordance with the hospital's diagnosis. I understand I shall be notified, as soon as possible, of the hospital visit and any treatment given by the hospital.

  • Do you suffer from any of the following illnesses or disabilities which may require medical treatment?

  • Further details of medical conditions, it is your responsibility to make known any potential medical conditions that may affect the sailor. Please include details of any medications that may be needed.

  • Have you received a vaccination against tetanus within the last 5 years?

  • Are you receiving medical treatment of any kind from either your GP or the hospital?

  • Have you been given specific medical advice to be followed in an emergency?

  • Any other information we should know in the interest of your safety and wellbeing ?

  • Please advise us of anything that could affect your learning ability

  • What you will need to bring:

    • Suitable clothing for powerboating.
    • Buoyancy aid.
    • Sun cream.

    for the cooler months

    • Warm clothes.
    • Spray top/windbreaker.
    • Warm hat.
  • We will be taking photographs and video recordings of participants for training purposes throughout the week. We may also use these for future publicity, including use on the Dell Quay Sailing Club website and social media such as FaceBook. Please confirm you are content for images to be used in this manner

  • I consent to being given any basic First Aid or emergency medical treatment necessary during the training activity.

  • Data Protection: The above information will be used by us to process your booking and retained for communication purposes until completion of these events for this year. Names and addresses may also be shared with the RYA if necessary for the award of qualifications.
