Upon Registration: A letter from the solicitor shall be annexed stating that the applicant is duly authorized to act as the representative of said manufacturer.
Investigation: Upon receipt of the application, the chief of Police will investigate the applicant's business and moral character as he deems necessary for the protection of the public goods.
Badge Required: All canvassers and solicitors are required to obtain a badge from the Police Department after application has been approved. The badge must be worn constantly by the licensee on the front of his her outer garment in such way to be conspicuous while engaging the soliciting. A $2.00 deposit is required for the issuance of the badge and shall be returned to the applicant upon return of the badge to the Borough Clerk.
Prohibited Soliciting: No person, whether the holder of a license or permit or not, shall visit or call any private residence for the purpose of soliciting when banned by the household by a sign bearing words to the effect that solicitors or canvassers are not invited or prohibited.
Use of Front Door Required: Any person soliciting approach any house within the Borough from the entrance closest to the street on which such house fronts and shall not go to any side or rear entrance unless instructed and invited to do so by an occupant of the house.
Hours of Soliciting No individual entity or organization shall solicit or canvass on Sundays. Other days: NOT before 9:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
Fees: Application Fee: $5.00 (Non-Re-Fundable)
Licenses Fee: $5.00 daily, $15.00 per week, $25.00 per month, $50.00 per year
