Be part of a new theatre making project in Lake Macquarie
As part of the opening of the new Multi-Arts Pavilion in Speers Point, Tantrum Youth Arts has been commissioned by Lake Macquarie City Council to create a brand new theatre work in collaboration with some of Lake Macquarie’s young and older residents.
If you are:
- A young person (12-18 years) OR an older person (55 years+)
- A Lake Mac resident, AND
- You are excited to collaborate and create something new in 2022
WE WANT YOU to be part of this project!
We are looking for an ensemble of 10-12 people from Lake Macquarie who fall into one of the following age groups – Young People 12-18 years old OR Older People aged 55+
What does it involve?
The ensemble will meet for weekly workshops with Tantrum at the Multi-Arts Pavilion (Speers Point) throughout February and March 2022, to create a new performance which will be presented in April 2022.
Weekly Workshops
Time: 4-6pm
Dates: Wednesdays between 2 February - 23 March
Contingency Workshop (TBC)
Time: 2-6pm
Date: Saturday 19 March
Intensive Workshop
Time: 2-6pm
Date: Saturday 26 March
Production Week and Shows
- Dates: Week commencing Monday 28 March with shows from 1-3 April
- Schedule of specific dates/times will be communicated with lots of notice
Debrief and Hang-out
Time: 4-6pm
Date: Wednesday 6 April
Venue
- All the above will take place at MAP mima
These workshops will be fun, creative and collaborative. You don’t need to have ANY experience in theatre, acting or performance to be part of this project.
