    INTRODUCTION

My name is Curt Skene and I am the Founder of the Career Network Club.  Over the past 15 years, I have helped thousands of unemployed Canadian business professionals land back on their working feet again.

One question many job seekers often ask is, “Why do I need to hire a career coach?” or sometimes I hear “I don’t have a job so I can't afford to hire a career coach.”

Well, this easy-to-use ROI Calculator will help you to put both of these questions to rest.

The premise is very simple.  Hiring a good career coach should definitely help you get hired faster.  Therefore, the shorter you are off the less income you lose.

Do me a favour and take your salary and divide it by 252.  That is how much you are losing every day you are not working.

Now, let's say you could find a job on your own in 90 days but a career coach with their knowledge and tools could help you get one in 75 days the 15-day difference times your daily earning rate is the lost revenue you recover.  In the end, the math is as follows:

Expected savings due to reduced salary lost - coaching fee spent

If the answer is a positive number, then you are making a good decision by hiring a coach. If it's a negative number, then it may not be the right decision for you.  Now, of course, one thing this calculator cannot do is assess your willingness to seek advice and how well you will listen to someone else.  Your ability to be a good student is something you need to decide.

Spoiler alert: If your target income is greater than $65K then the answer is almost always “YES, hiring a career coach is a good decision”.  In this case, all this calculator will do is show you the numbers to support your already wise decision.

To make our estimate more accurate I have built in some assumptions for the value of the various coaching services typically offered by coaches because we want this to be a fair reflection of the Career Coaching ROI you can expect.

    The assumptions are as follows,

Coaching (including, coaching tools, process plan) 5%

    Interview Training 2%

    LinkedIn Profile 2%

    Networking, Lead Gen 2%

    Offer Negotiation Coaching 1%

    Resume 2%

    Soft Skills Training 1%

    Webinar 2%

    Other ____ 2%

    * % faster to getting hired.

    Hope it helps!

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND HIRING A COACH

So, {FirstName}, this may surprise you but based on your salary, your estimated length of job search, and the coaching services you will be receiving we have calculated a career coach could cost you more than the lost wages you will be recovering so, hiring a career coach at ${whatIs9} doesn't really make sense!
