Healthy Lifestyles grants are multi-year awards that will provide funding for new or current programs that directly and positively change health habits, behaviors and/or lifestyles for residents in the Kansas counties of:
- Douglas
- Lyon
- Jackson
- Jefferson
- Nemaha
- Osage
- Pottawatomie
- Riley
- Wabaunsee
Grant awards will be up to $20,000/year for two years. Requests may include (but are not restricted to): staff salaries, marketing expenses, technology, strategic planning and consultants.
REQUIREMENTS
Awards will be determined by the quality and strength of the case presented for the proposed need via the supporting proposal narrative and by the appropriateness of the Topeka Community Foundation as the source of funding. Criteria that will be considered in reviewing proposals includes:
- Purpose and demonstration of need
- Need of proposed program in the community
- Organizational capacity to carry out proposed program
- Strength of partnerships, coalitions, and or alliances as they relate directly to the proposed program
- Strength of organization's plan for evaluation
- Clarity of budget and budget narrative
FUNDING EXCLUSIONS
Grant funds may not be used for any of the following activities:
Medical research
Contributions to capital campaigns
Operating deficits or retirement of debt
Construction projects, real estate acquisitions, or endowments, not part of a Foundation-initiated program
Vehicles, such as vans or busses
Grants to individuals
Annual fund drives
Fundraising events
