MOST IMPORTANT: Keep up with the group ahead.
- Carry extra tees, markers, an extra ball and a divot repair tool in your pocket.
- Try to track everyone’s shots – This saves time looking for balls.
- Plan your next shot as you approach your ball. DO NOT wait until you get there.
- Be ready to make your shot when it is your turn.
- Leave your clubs or cart on the side of the green towards the next tee.
- Line up your putt while others are putting – without disturbing them.
- “Hole out” your putt – if you can do so without disturbing the “line” of another’s putt.
After finishing a hole, go to the next tee before recording your score.
You are out of position if:
- On a Par 3, the group in front of you has left the green when you arrive at the tee.
- On a Par 4, the group in front of you is on the green when you reach the tee.
- On a Par 5, the group in front of you is approaching the green when you reach the tee.
