This class will run Thursday evenings from 6-8pm from April 14th - May 5th with an outing on May 1st from 8-10am.
The studio is located at 149 Cardinal Street (north end of Barrie) out of my studio in the basement. It does have a separate entrance into the studio so it is mostly separate from my actual living space. I do have a cat in the home. She is not allowed in the studio but she does use the staircase, etc in her travels.
This class will be a mix of in class instruction with walks in the neighbourhood as well as meeting on location in nearby areas for more hands on learning. I plan for atleast 1 class to be fully outside along with smaller outdoor portions on in studio nights (either by a neighbourhood walk or locations within 5 minutes of the studio). The class will be a bit fluent around weather so I will email the night before with the plan for the class whether we are meeting on location somewhere or in studio.
A digital SLR is required for this class (or something with similar manual settings) and you will need your manual (or access to it online)
The following topics will be discussed in class:
-Basic camera settings (where, why and how)
-Learning ISO, F stop and shutter for creative choices
-Rules of composition
-Small talk on photographing people, landscapes, nature, wildlife, and gear (I do also leave a small portion open for anything else that class wants covered)
-The outdoor outings allow us to practice and put these skills to work. It also allows time for me to help one on one with any issues you may have and walk you through specific tasks with your camera.
I am currently limiting my classes to 6 participants (because of covid) as we will be required to keep distance while in the studio but will watch over guidelines as we approach the spring, etc and if more are allowed, I'll assess the situation then if I feel comfortable doing so. All participants will be required to wear a mask at all times while we are inside. I do allow masks to be removed once outside but if I need to help them with their cameras, come close, etc then both myself and them will be required to put on their masks (anytime particpants or myself are within 6 feet distance). I do ask that everyone sanitizes once entering the studio and that no outdoor shoes are allowed in in the actual studio space.
If anyone is experience any sickness, covid symptoms, etc they will be asked to stay home that week to minimize germs, etc. I will have a covid screening that will be required to quickly fill out before each and every meeting (it only takes about 1 minute to fill out). If we are doing any in studio lessons, I am happy to zoom them in live while we do the learning portion and there may be even some instances where they can practice at home, etc.
There is no reschedule date, etc for anyone who is unable to attend one of the classes. I will however pass along any information they missed and if I have a few minutes the following week, I will fill them in the best I can.
The fee's for this class are $175+hst which can be sent by email transfer to tiffanyparadisphotography@gmail.com These fee's are NON-REFUNDABLE if you are unable to attend the class unless I am able to fill your spot. It is NON-REFUNDABLE once the class has started regardless of your attendance. If for some reason provincial guidelines change and I am unable to offer in studio lessons, then I will run the class MOSTLY outdoors with any rainy days, instructional classes over ZOOM. If I am unable to run outdoor sessions, then your fee's can be transfered towards a future class as soon as I am able to be up and running or towards any of my services, etc (photo sessions, etc)
