Teachers and Ministers Active and in Good Standing with The Universal Foundation for Better Living, Inc.
Since the late Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon founded the Universal Foundation for Better Living, Inc. (UFBL) in 1974, hundreds of people have received training in the empowering message of New Thought Christianity that is the basis for What We Believe.
In 1976, Dr. Colemon established the Johnnie Colemon Institute (JCI), which served as the teaching arm of UFBL for many years. Persons desiring to become Licensed Teachers and Ordained Ministers attended JCI, housed in Chicago at Dr. Colemon’s ministry, Christ Universal Temple. Upon successfully completing all program requirements, students were Licensed as Teachers, Spiritual Counsellors, or Ordained Ministers of UFBL.
To further advance UFBL’s role as a leader in the New Thought Christian Movement, Dr. Colemon and then UFBL President, Dr. Mary A. Tumpkin, recognized the need for a seminary. Drs. Colemon and Tumpkin’s vision of a UFBL seminary was realized when the Johnnie Colemon Theological Seminary (JCTS) opened in Miami Gardens, Florida, in 2002. JCTS is the academic arm of UFBL, and oversees and governs all aspects of the UFBL credentialing process.
JCTS maintains a directory of UFBL Ordained Ministers and Licensed Teachers whose credentials are current. To determine whether an individual is licensed by UFBL currently and in ‘good standing,’ please submit this form and a JCTS representative will contact you.
