    • AIR's Apprenticeships for Tech initiative is designed to:

      • Launch and expand Registered Apprenticeship Programs for in-demand technology occupations in any industry;
      • Use apprenticeship to recruit, train, and retain talent for employers to meet the demand for technology professionals; and
      • Increase opportunities for diverse talent pools and develop mechanisms to support apprentices in successful completion of their apprenticeship programs.

      Partnership Activities
      We are seeking to work with organizations that have a shared commitment to expanding apprenticeships in technology occupations and increasing opportunities for diverse populations in the tech field. We will provide technical assistance to partner organizations to support the development of apprenticeship programs. These no cost areas of technical assistance may include:

      • Support adopting existing National Guideline Standards to accelerate  program development.
      • Assistance navigating the federal and/or state registration process.
      • Help brokering connections to training providers and other state or local resources.
      • Support for marketing and business engagement activities (if applicable).
      • Support for strategies for recruitment from broad and diverse talent pools.

      We will also provide partner organizations with tools to help them develop, register, and launch apprenticeship programs, such as an action plan template and reference guides, and include the partner in the network of organizations participating under this initiative. The initiative will drive business interest in apprenticeships for technology occupations and connect interested employers with partners.

      Partners will work to establish a new Registered Apprenticeship Program, add an occupation to an existing Registered Apprenticeship Program, or participate as a hiring partner for a group sponsor using National Guideline Standards (Learn more).
