The Francis O. Price Scholarship fund was established at Mr. Price’s death in March of 1993 by the trust agreement of Francis O. Price and Cynthia Vaughn Price. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to assist individuals who are Confirmed members of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church to attend an accredited four year college or university. The recipients of these scholarships are determined by the Vestry based on the recommendation of the Price Scholarship Awards Committee.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Confirmed member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
- Demonstrate commitment to achieving academic success during high school and in future collegiate studies
- Have financial need recognizing that there is a significant cost to higher education
Other factors that will be taken into consideration:
- faith journey
- a commitment to service at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
- a commitment to community service
- strength of character
- breadth of interests
- concern for others
- extracurricular involvement
- tuition cost of the applicant’s university and other scholarships awarded to the applicant
Requirements:

The Price Scholar must continue in college as a full-time student.

Application Procedure:

Students are responsible for submitting completed form no later than Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Applicants must complete all items listed below. Recommendations and grade information must be completed by the two persons you ask to recommend you and your high school guidance counselor on a separate form at https://form.jotform.com/220116598804154 by Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Award:

The Price Scholarship will provide $4,000 per year for tuition and fees, room and meals, and books and supplies.

Scholarship will be renewable each year for a total of four years as long as the recipient continues in college as a full-time student.

Recipient will be notified prior to May 1, 2024.

In awarding the Price Scholarship, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, citizenship status, or military status. The Vestry of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church reserves the right not to award a scholarship if it decides, in its sole discretion, not to do so for any reason, which reason(s) will not include a candidate’s membership in one or more of the foregoing categories.

The Application Package to be submitted consists of:
1. The application form and the essay, below

3. High school academic transcripts with explanation of its grading system, completed by guidance counselor, through this form: https://form.jotform.com/220116598804154
4. Parent/Guardian: You may feel free to assist the candidate through the process, but do not assist with the application itself or with the essay.
5. Parent/Guardian: Complete the Financial Statement.
6. Parent/Guardian: Sign the completed application where indicated.
APPLICANT
1. Fill out each section below. Answer each question as thoroughly as possible.
2. Provide the reference links to the individuals you choose to write recommendations. You should be very selective in choosing persons to recommend you. Please choose two of the following to provide recommendations for you: 1) a current or recent teacher who knows you well; 2) a parishioner of Holy Trinity who knows you well; 3) a professional such as an employer or mentor (for example, scout leader, coach, etc.). The recommendations should emphasize your character, qualifications, and reasons why you are a "good fit" for the Price Scholarship. Recommendations written by relatives are not appropriate, nor are recommendations written by priests or employees of Holy Trinity. It is your responsibility to follow up with them to be sure it is completed by March 20, 2024.
3. Have your counselor provide the academic information in this form https://form.jotform.com/220116598804154 and sign where indicated. Also, have your counselor provide a copy of your transcripts. It is your responsibility to follow up with your conselor to be sure it is completed by March 20, 2024.
4. Use the essay to share a a story or experiences that demonstrate who you are and who you want to be. You are much more than your resume and transcript!
5. In order to be considered by the Awards Committee, the entire submission must be completed no later than March 20, 2024.
6. Interviews will be scheduled with qualifying candidates in April, 2024.
7. Scholarship recipient will be notified before May 1, 2024.

One of the three criteria for scholarship eligibility is financial need. Parents should attach a brief written statement that explicitly addresses the applicant's financial need.
