The Booker Prize for Fiction is awarded annually to the author of the best (in the opinion of the judges) eligible work of long-form fiction. The work must be published in the UK or Ireland between 1 October 2021 and 30 September 2022.

Submissions for the 2002 prize open on Tuesday, 11 January and deadlines for submissions are staggered between 31 January and 4 April 2022.

Automatic entries

Physical copies and PDFs for all available automatic entries should be submitted to Four Culture during January 2022.

Completed entry forms can follow after, as per the below deadlines.

Books published between 1 October 2021 and 31 March 2022

All entry forms, physical copies and PDFs must be submitted to Four Culture by Monday 31 January 2022.

Books published between 1 April and 30 September 2022

All entry forms must be submitted to Four Culture by Monday 4 April 2022, with physical copies and PDFs arriving no later than Monday 6 June 2022.

Call-ins

All nomination forms, justification letters and first chapters must be submitted to Four Culture by Monday 7 March 2022. If no text is available at the time of call-in, the first chapter should be sent as soon as it is available.

The work must be published by a publishing house based in the UK or Ireland. Authors are not permitted to enter their own works.
