Class of 1960 Endowed Scholarship Fund

In the fall of 2006, in honor of the 50th anniversary of our first day of school at La Salle, our class founded the Class of 1960 Endowed Scholarship Fund. This fund is intended to ensure that middle-income Catholic families continue to have access to the marvelous educational program which the Christian Brothers bequeathed to La Salle College Preparatory.

To date, our scholarship fund has raised $155,057.69. As an endowed fund, only the interest raised off the corpus is spent. Since 2010, $92,836.00 in interest has been earned and used to support financial aid at La Salle in honor of our class.

Financial aid continues to be a critical need at La Salle. For the 2021-2022 school year alone, La Salle has granted $2.75 million in Financial Aid to 35% of the student body.

Two-thirds of the financial aid awarded goes to students of academic promise whose family income is insufficient to pay the entire tuition. The 30 full-tuition San Miguel Scholars, 72 students receiving 50% financial aid and more, and the 116 students receiving partial assistance based on family need would not have the opportunity of a Lasallian education if not for the generosity of our alumni.

In honor of our 60 Year Reunion, we invite you to consider renewing your support to our endowed fund. No matter the size, all gifts will help grow our fund and benefit students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend La Salle.
