  • Mission Statement

Our mission at the School of Fine Arts is to develop and educate our Houston’s First family and community to help realize their fullest potential for service in ministry at their local church.

We accomplish excellence in musical education through private lessons, group classes, and performance events throughout the year. Our teachers are some of the most qualified in the surrounding Houston area. All are welcome to take lessons, inside and outside the church.

We also seek to assist students financially who would not otherwise be able to pursue artistic education. We do this through a scholarship fund that is graciously supported by church members.

We are continually expanding and pursuing excellence as we seek to inspire the same in others.

  • The School of Fine Arts at Houston’s First offers need-based scholarships. These scholarships are granted at the discretion of the School Director after reviewing the needs and allocating the funds.

We understand that the desire for assistance will be great which is why we take the giving of scholarships very seriously and look to be good stewards of the funds that will be provided. Scholarship students and parents are under specific guidelines to act as ambassadors for SoFA. There is an expectation that scholarship students/parents would be willing to volunteer their time when needed, would not have excessive absences, would show a commitment to practice and maintain a positive attitude in order to keep their scholarship. Scholarships can be reduced or revoked at anytime if these expectations are not met.

Upon receipt of your application, you will be notified of a decision in a timely manner.
