  • Entry Qualifications

    Normal entry on to an HND qualification would typically require a level 3 qualification in business or related subject. Alternatively USP college also accept application from students who can evidence recognised prior experiential learning.

  • Application using prior experiential learning (APEL)

    Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is a process that enables people of all ages, backgrounds and attitudes to receive formal recognition for skills and knowledge they already possess. This can be:

    • organised prior learning where the learning has been assessed and where certificates are awarded on completion.
    • learning gained through unstructured experiences and short courses, arising through leisure pursuits, family experiences and work.

    Please prepare a word document that explains your suitability for studying the HND business course. This should include detail on any previous work experience, and how this is relevant to the course you wish to study. Please also provides any references from your most recent employer to support your application. You may also want to include photos of any formal credited learning that you have achieved lower than level 3.

  • English Language requirements

    You also need to demonstrate an appropriate level of written English to enter the course. Typically a student would hold a recognised level 2 qualification in English Language. Alternatively, student can also opt to be assessed as part of the entry process.

  • Our Learning Plus team aim to provide each student with the individual support they need in order to reach their full potential whilst at college.

    All students who wish to discuss their needs, before or after joining us, are welcome to call into Learning Plus at any time (no need to book an appointment). We are also able to offer confidential interviews to ensure that we assess each student to ensure the correct support is provided.
