Volunteer Programs provide the opportunity to become involved in environmental activities that help protect our natural resources. These activities improve water quality, reduce recycling contamination, increase community involvement, and beautify Greensboro.

Water Resources:
Adopt-a-Stream: Groups select a stream and pick up litter twice a year for two years to reduce water pollution.
Clean-a-Creek: Not ready to adopt a stream? Don't worry. Your group can still make a positive impact by participating in a one-time cleanup without the commitment to adopt.
Kayaking Lake Cleanups: Water Resources hosts kayaking lake cleanups multiple times throughout the year at City Lakes.*Kayaking experience is required.
Drain Marker: Volunteers help bring awareness about the importance of protecting stormwater by placing markers on storm drains.
*All supplies are provided. Trash pickup is provided for cleanups.
*Volunteers must be 10 years old and up. An adult must supervise children under 16 at all times.
*Water Resources also hosts multiple community cleanups and drain marker events throughout the year that you can participate in as an individual. Registration is required.
