  • The American Lurcher Rescue Project, Inc. (“ALP”) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehoming, and welfare of the racing American greyhound lurchers and greyhound mixes.  The ALP is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations.  All of our dogs receive complete medical care, which includes, but not limited to, worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, dental, and microchipping prior to their adoption.

Thank You!  The American Lurcher Project Team

PLEASE NOTE:  ***Our dogs love to run and play and WILL NEED A FENCED IN YARD.***

Some of the dogs may be vocal and are not suited for apartments.  We are unable to cat test the dogs so we are "NOT" able to adopt dogs to homes with cats.  Exceptions: If you live close to Celina Pet Center and able to bring your cat for testing with a dog, or on occasion, we may know that a dog is good around kitties. If you have any questions, please email us at americanlurcherproject@gmail.com.

***The majority of our dogs are boarding at Celina Pet Center, Celina, Ohio (OH/IN border).  While we can do some out of state adoptions, it does depend on whether we can do the home visit and also arrange transport of the dog.  ***FENCED IN YARD IS REQUIRED TO ADOPT***

  • This questionnaire is designed to help the American Lurcher Project and yourself determine if a specific dog is the right one for you and your household. All adopting parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption.  The American Lurcher Project reserves the right to deny any adoption based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoption.  We will contact you in one to two days after we receive your application.  Our objective is to place these amazing sighthounds into loving homes that will benefit both the dog and the adopter.
