HDSB staff are vital to ensuring that students succeed on their learning journey. When students lack food, clothing, and other basics, it is harder for them to focus on class. In partnership with HDSB staff, Halton Learning Foundation provides emergency support for students in need.

Community Development Halton has recently released that childhood poverty in Halton is now about 1 in 8 children, up from 1 in 10. Poverty is affecting more children. Last year, the number of students seeking help rose by 20%.

You can help HLF continue to provide emergency relief for students by becoming a Barriers Buster. It's convenient when you donate directly from your pay every payday, or just once if you prefer.

New or increased payroll donations started before October 31, 2025 will be matched by belairdirect. Your impact will be doubled.
