    W.S. 21-2-306(b)(viii) requires 175 Student/Teacher contact days and 185 teacher contract days per school year unless an alternative schedule is approved by the State Board of Education.
  • Minimum Number of Hours Calculation

    Chapter 22 Rules define Pupil-Teacher Contact Time as time reflected in a school schedule for on- or off-site instruction and educational activities that students are required to attend, for which attendance is taken for membership calculation purposes, and that includes instruction available from a certified teacher. The required number of hours set by the State Board of Education is 450 for Kindergarten, 900 for Elementary, 950 for Middle School/Jr. High, and 1000 for High School. For column (c) multiply (a) times (b). For column (f) multiply (d) times (e). For column (g) add (c) plus (f). Number of hours for each category will be automatically calculated based on column (g).
