Qualifications
* Must be between 10 and 17 years of age OR be in 5th - 12th grade * Must love animals ARRF Reading can be used as volunteer hours; however, volunteer hours may not be used for court ordered community service.
Duties
*Read in the presence of animals for at least 20 minutes of your visit. When you spend some time reading at the shelter and not giving the animals your complete attention, this actually helps them get used to being around people who aren't focused on them all the time! In a new home, these wonderful cats and dogs might have brothers and sisters who need love, too, and they might also have an owner who has to do some work from home. This is a huge transition for animals when they go from shelter to home, and just a little time reading in front of them can help them be better prepared for he change over!* Give the animals at a local animal shelter some love and affection
