The Women’s Center is proud to announce that CCSU has been selected by Running Start to host Elect Her Campaign, a national program to encourage and train college women to run for student government and political office. During this one-day training, participants will learn and practice hands-on campaign skills, hear from inspiring speakers, and discuss research on women in government. The skills learned in this workshop, like networking and building an elevator speech, will transfer to many leadership opportunities throughout their life, not just student government.
Elect Her is the only program in the country that encourages and trains college women to run for student government and future political office. A Elect Her addresses the need to expand the pipeline of women candidates and to diminish the longstanding political leadership gender gap.
Research shows that women are not asked to run for office as often as men, which is why your participation can change our world. More women are needed in leadership, we are prepared to help you take a seat at the table and lead the group.
