Building a Portfolio

Appendix 4 is a resource to aid in assembling an Ordination Portfolio that presents your achievements to the Regional Commission on the Order of Ministry (RCOM). This form allows you to create a detailed document of reference that will compliment your Ordination Portfolio. Separately, your Ordination Portfolio will be the collection of all materials that you submit to reflect your growth and experiences in ministry, as relating to the 16 Ministerial Practices/Competencies.

HELPFUL INFORMATION
- You will begin working on this Appendix 4 in preparation for your Mid-Point Conversations - Parts 1 & 2 with RCOM.
- You will separately submit materials and documents for your Ordination Portfolio using the Portfolio Dropbox.
- You are welcome to submit a "Draft" version of this Appendix 4 at anytime. However, your "Final" version will not be due until prior to your Ordination Conversation with RCOM.
- Should any of the information requested in this Appendix 4 be a duplicate of what you provided in your Appendix 15 (that was submitted prior to your Candidacy Conversation with RCOM), you are welcome to indicate "Reference Appendix 15" or something similar.
- As you work on this Appendix 4, you can skip any required fields that you wish to complete later by indicating "N/A" or "N/A at this time" or something similar.
- Please remember to hit the "SAVE" button often to ensure that your information is stored in this form because you may likely need to complete it in muliple settings.
HOW TO COMPLETE THIS FORM

Step 1. Complete the "General Information" section on the next Page of this form.

Step 2. Gather information from each of your previous Educational and Formational Experiences.

Step 3. For those life and Ministerial Experiences that are subjective in nature, please submit a Letter or Reference (as appropriate) from any of the following individuals who are aware of and have witnessed your strengths and growing edges in Ministry:
- Senior Minister of a Congregation Served
- Elder of a Congregation Served
- Current or Past Congregant of a Congregation Served
- Colleagues
- Judicatory Leaders
- Supervisors
- Current Personal/Community Partner
Step 4. Your Ministerial Experiences are reflected in the materials/documents you submit for your Ordination Portfolio (using the Portfolio Dropbox) to demonstrate your strengths in Ministry as related to the 16 Ministerial Practices/Competencies:
- Sermons you've preached (written text or recording).
- Worship materials you've developed.
- Curriculum created for courses you've taught.
- Newsletters or other publications you've created/written.
- Programs/Workshops/Bible Studies you’ve developed/led.
