A multi-week program, Traveling Artists allows Veterans to travel across America and express what America means to them after serving. Artistic expression can be drawing, painting, photography or any other visual medium that the artist chooses. The only commitment is to submit pieces of that artistic expression to an annual show at the VFW Post 1 Veterans Art Gallery in Denver, Colorado.
The Traveling Artist program provides a stipend of $500 to $1,000 to help offset the cost of a veteran artist’s travel. Unusual methods of travel or unique stops along the way that best reflect what America means to the veteran are encouraged.
Are you a Veteran? Planning a trip? Apply for a stipend through the VAC Traveling Artist Program, create art during your travels or complete works based on your art studies once you’ve returned home or to your studio and ship up to three finished pieces to our annual gallery show in October 2022. (We encourage you to submit your studies along with your finished art or sculpture because they allow gallery visitors to share in your process and are an important part of the art experience.)
