VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

PLEASE READ - VERY IMPORTANT

1. ORIENTATION AND TOUR (Space is limited to 20 attendees)
Please confirm your attendance in order to be registered.  When registering, use your full name as it appears on your volunteer application.  You will receive an automatic reply registering you.  Please check your mail and junk mail.

2. CHILD VOLUNTEER POLICY — STRICTLY ENFORCED

Children ages 10–16 must MUST have a parent/guardian  with them at all times while volunteering at the barn.  Sunshine Horses requires a 1-to-1 ratio: one child volunteer per parent/guardian.

Parents/guardians must complete their own volunteer application. On the application, please indicate MOM or DAD or Guardian so we know which child you are accompanying.

3. BACKGROUND CHECKS & INSURANCE
Sunshine Horses conducts background checks for sex offenses and animal abuse or neglect.  Sunshine Horses does not provide volunteers with:

* Health or medical insurance
* Automobile insurance
* Workers' Compensation coverage
* Disability coverage
* All volunteers are responsible for maintaining their own insurance coverage.

 

WHAT DAYS ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO VOLUNTEER:

There are two shifts daily. Mornings 7:30 am. Afternoons 4:30 p.m.  Please list the days you want to volunteer.

SKILL SETS

If you are experienced in the following areas and would like to volunteer your skills, please let us know.  We need experienced people in these areas:

Public Relations, Electrician, Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Photographer, Social Media, Event Planning, Accounting, Gardening, Computer, CPR Certified, EMT and Nurse, Grant Writing.

WE HAVE OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES YOU CAN HELP WITH:  

Grant Work: If you are a grant writter, we need you.

Events & Fundraising: Help with Fundraising and Events. 

Farm Maintenance - Snow removal, Mowing, Tractor Work, Carpentry, Electrician

Computer  - Skills in Social Media, word processing, computer technology.

Medically Trained - Experienced in:  Nurse, CPR Certified, EMT.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER

CHILDREN  ages of 10 through 17 must have their parent or guardian sign the Release of Liability Waiver below.

CHILDREN up to the age of 16, must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times and until the Team Leader and Parent/Guardian give their approval that the child is proficient enough to work without parent/guardian supervision. The parent/guardian must still be present at Sunshine.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER

As a volunteer for Sunshine Horses, Inc., I acknowledge the risks and potential for risks posed by my handling and caring for livestock, and I voluntarily agree to assume these risks, such on-farm activities in which I will be participating in and that these activities may expose me to the risk of personal injury, death, or damage to your property. I understand the responsibilities and duties of a Sunshine Horses, Inc. volunteer. I am familiar with the duties involved in the care of the livestock and I represent that I am able to perform those duties. Accordingly, by my signature below, I hereby, intending to be legally bound, for myself, my heirs and assigns, executors or administrators, waive and release forever all claims for damages against Sunshine Horses, Inc., its Board of Directors, volunteers, and I or employees for any and all injuries and/or losses I may sustain while performing work for Sunshine Horses, Inc.
