    CodeCrew is seeking certified HS teachers who are committed to increasing the quality of Computer Science education for the students in Shelby County, TN and surrounding areas. The goals of this new fellowship program are: 1. Increase teacher knowledge of Computer Science concepts; 2. Provide ongoing support and training to build teacher confidence as they teach Computer Science concepts; 3. Increase access to quality Computer Science education for students; and 4. Equip teachers with the necessary knowledge to pass the computer science praxis exam. There are financial incentives for teachers who complete the fellowship program.   • Fellowship Financial Incentives

    Read this section carefully. If accepted into this fellowship, teachers can receive financial incentives of up to $1250. Incentives will be disbursed for completing the summer professional development course, reaching a minimum score on the Computer Science Praxis exam, and/or starting a Computer Science after school program. Your selection of yes to the questions in this section indicate your understanding of ways to earn the potential financial incentive that comes with participation in the fellowship.

  • Summer Preferences & Availability

    Participants in this fellowship will attend summer classes twice a week from June 7 - July 28. Classes will not meet during the week of July 4. This part of the fellowship is in conjunction with the Center for STEM Education at UT Austin and the department of computer science at the University of Memphis. This blended learning course seeks to provide training to teachers to strengthen knowledge of foundational computer science concepts and to increase confidence to teach concepts in the classroom. This section asks about your availability during the summer development.
