Purpose:
The H. Austin and Florence R.S. Kaye Foundation has joined with City College to provide funds for a program to attract and support talented students who are pursuing a major in the Humanities & Arts.
Criteria:
Kaye Scholars will be chosen by a panel of City College faculty on the basis of:
• academic merit
• creative promise
• financial need
Requirements:
Recipients of Kaye Scholarships must, in order to maintain the award:
• be full time students (taking a minimum of 12 credits) at CCNY
• have taken at least one semester of classes at CCNY
• maintain a 3.0 GPA
• pursue a major in the Division of Humanities & Arts (American Studies, Art, Asian Studies, Black Studies, Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures, Comparative Literature, English, History, Jewish Studies, Media and Communication Arts, Music, Philosophy, or Theatre). No other major is acceptable.
Benefits:
Each year the H. Austin and Florence R.S. Kaye of the City College 21st Century Foundation awards stipends in the amount of in-state tuition* to entering and continuing students at the City College of New York who are pursuing or considering majors in the Humanities and Arts.
Stipends equal to in-state tuition per semester (currently approximately $7340 per year).
*These stipends are over and above other financial aid students may receive.
