The Stockton Chapter of The Links, Incorporated provides scholarships to African American high school seniors living in San Joaquin or Stanislaus Counties. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing a course of study at a two or four year educational institution.
Scholarship Criteria:
Stockton Chapter of The Links, Incorporated General Scholarship criteria:
- Current high school senior, of African American descent, living in San Joaquin or Stanislaus Counties
- Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or above
The Lavenna Moppins Gray Community Service Scholarship criteria:
- Current high school senior, of African American descent, living in San Joaquin or Stanislaus Counties
- Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or above
A complete scholarship application must be submitted electronically and includes:
1. General information Form.
2. Two letters of recommendation submitted electronically from:
a) A school staff member familiar with your academic accomplishments
b) A community leader of an organization in which you served
3. An unofficial copy of your current transcript
4. Responses to the essay questions below:
a) Describe your academic interests, awards, extracurricular activities, and any involvement in community service. Please include any specific challenges that you have faced. 500 word limit
b) What inspires you, what are you passionate about? 500 word limit.
