PLEASE HAVE YOUR PASSPORT IN HAND
Type your full name as it appears on your PASSPORT
Remember that passports around the world are printed differently, with very unique features, like: stamps, banners, language/dialect, etc. Some have special characters, accents and/or diacritics. But for US student visa purposes, The US Government asks that we enter the information as it is presented/written in the passport, A to Z letters (from the Roman alphabet), and no special characters, or accents.
If your Name is written as Full Name, in a single line, and does not have a separation between the Surname/Primary Name (last name(s), family name, etc.), and the Given Name (name(s), middle name(s), etc.), we will enter the information the same way is written in your passport in the field "Surname/Primary Name" (mandatory field) in the form I-20.
The information that you provide must be the same as it appears on your passport.
