PoMoArts welcomes submissions for the annual True Colours Youth Pride Art Exhibition to celebrate Pride in Port Moody this June.

The True Colours exhibition creates a safe and welcoming space for Tri-City 2SLGBTQI+ youth, their families, and their allies. This exhibition focuses on celebrating diversity, promoting inclusivity, and creates a space for the unique contributions of youth artists in our community.

We invite youth artists (age 12-19) who identify as part of, or allies to the 2SLGBTQI+ community to apply to showcase their work. Youth are invited to submit original artwork that explores themes of identity, family, and culture. School District 43 (Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra) students are encouraged to apply.

The exhibition runs from May 15 – July 6, 2025. In addition, True Colours artists are invited to attend the public Opening Reception for all PoMoArts exhibitions in this show on May 15th, 2025, as well as a private opening for our youth artists, their families and friends.  

True Colours Exhibition Key Dates

Submission Deadline: Friday, April 18th, 2025
Artists notified by: Friday, April 25th, 2025
Artwork Drop-off: Wednesday, May 7th, 2025  
Exhibition Runs: May 15 – July 6, 2025
Public Opening Reception: Thursday, May 15, 2025 6-8pm, for all exhibitions opening May 16th. 
Private Opening Reception: Thursday, June 5, 2025 6pm-8pm

Artwork Pick-up: Tuesday, July 8, 2025 10:30am - 4:00pm 

Location: Beedie Living Gallery at Port Moody Arts Centre

• To be eligible applicants must be attending school or be homeschooled, be between 12 and 19 years old, and identify as part of, or allies to the 2SLGBTQI+ community. School District 43 (Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra) students are encouraged to apply.
• Photos of submitted artwork should be 300 dpi, 2 - 3 mb and in a jpg format.
• Submission does not guarantee entry into the exhibition, and final selection may be dependent on available gallery space.
