The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce recognizes business excellence in Wood Buffalo. The Selection Committee will take public nominations under consideration as they determine the 2022 Business Award winners.
The People’s Choice Award finalists will be determined by the Selection Committee, and the winner will be voted on by the public.
Businesses and individuals must be residents of the Wood Buffalo region in order to be eligible.

Indigenous Business
The nominee must be an Indigenous owned or operated business or have a strong cross-cultural corporate culture. How has this business incorporated cross-cultural relations and Indigenous values into organizational culture and business practices? What are the value-added benefits to Indigenous communities and individuals in at least one Alberta community as a result of implementing best practices including economic development, employment and training, and community engagement?
Lifetime Business Achievement
The nominee must be an individual (or duo if appropriate). How has this business leader contributed to the business community over their whole career?
Youth Entrepreneur
The nominee must be an individual under the age of 30 who is in a currently leadership capacity at the business. How has the individual played a direct and primary role in the planning and establishment of the business?
Franchise
The nominee must be a business that is a part of a franchise and operates under a franchise agreement. They have shown a dedicated focus on achieving a community-forward approach to operations and are consistently involved in giving back to the local community and supporting regional initiatives.
