Before the first lesson, you will need to rent a violin from RL Ray Violin Shop if located in Southwest Washington, or an equivalent local violin shop. Please call the shop to make an appointment.

Please note that rental violins from general music stores will not be accepted for lessons.

Please read Obtaining a Violin carefully to locate a violin shop near you.

*The student must be present for measurements.

*Optional insurance coverage for the rental is strongly recommended.

Please also purchase a shoulder rest at this time that is comfortable for the student (ask the shop employees to adjust it to their body).

*The student has received formal violin instruction for at least a year.

*Before the first lesson, the violin will be inspected by an accredited violin shop to ensure that it's the correct size and in playing condition.

*If the shop determines that the sizing and/or condition of your instrument are insufficient, a violin will need to be rented before the first lesson.
