Commencement of Work

Commencement is defined in Regulation 46A of the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) as follows:

1. New buildings and ground level extensions are considered to be commenced when the "sub-surface structure of the building, or the extension including all foundations, any basement level (if any) and the ground floor structure is completed".

2. Building work other than new buildings and ground level extensions (e.g. internal alterations, extensions above ground floor level and loft conversions etc.) is considered to be commmenced when 15% of the proposed work is completed.

Please note: the "intended commencement" date is for contract purposes only. Formal notice of commencement will be required once the Initial Notice is accepted.
