    The Scholarship Committee is pleased that you have chosen to apply for a stipend from the High Street Foundation to be eligible you must be a member of High Street Church and have a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. This is an important document for you and for us, the Scholarship Committee. From this document, we must make some very important decisions about the grants we offer. We ask that you be thorough, neat, and explicit with your answers. The thoroughness and quality of your application is important consideration in our process as well as your participation in High Street activities, the community, and school. Please enter your answers on this electronic form and submit it.

    NEW: If you have received a scholarship in the past, DO NOT make financial plans based on prior-year awards. The award amount each year may fluctuate based on quantity of applications received, the quality of the applications, and the dollar amount available to be distributed.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE • YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL SECTIONS!!

    1. Complete the Scholarship Application Form online and submit it
        electronically by April 15, 2022. Late applications will not be
        accepted.
      All sections of the application must be completed. Attach
        documents as indicated in the online application.              

    2. Return the following supporting documents to the church office or mail them
        to be postmarked by April 15, 2022.
          a. If this is the first year of post-high school education, include a copy of
              your letter of acceptance from the school/university you plan to attend.
          b. You must obtain a copy of your most recent (high school or college)
              transcript of grades and include them in your supporting documents.
              The transcript must be an original and come from the school and cannot
              be an Internet copy. If you have transferred to a new school, you must
              also submit the transcript from the school(s) from which you
              transferred. If your school must send it directly, please note.
          c. You must include a letter of recommendation from a non-family, active
             member of the High Street Church congregation. If they are sending it
             directly to the church rather than giving it to you to send in, it should
             arrive or be postmarked by April 15, 2022. NEW: If you are in your
             5th year or greater of applying for a scholarship, a letter of
             recommendation will not be needed.

    3. All your responses will remain confidential.

    4. Scholarship awards will be remitted semiannually in your name directly to
        the educational institution.

    5. You will be required to show proof of attendance for the spring semester as
        well.

  • We want to get to know you better. Please choose TWO essay topics, one from (I.) Life and one from (II.) Faith and share your thoughts with us, in detail. We would like for you to write at least one page for each topic for us to read. Remember this section is very heavily weighted. Do your best thinking! If this is not your first year to apply for a scholarship, please do not answer the same questions, choose one you haven't done before. If you choose to use the same question for your essay make sure it is a VERY different perspective/answer.

    (I.) Life

    1.  If you could serve as an apprentice to someone, who would you like that to be
         and what would you hope to learn from them?

    2.  What is the biggest problem your generation faces and how does it affect you?

    3.  What is the kindest thing someone has done for you and how did it affect you?

    4.  Have you had a teacher that taught you more than the subject of their class?        
            Explain in detail how she/he impacted your learning and your life.

    5.  If you had the opportunity to ask someone (past and present) a question,
         who would you ask, what would the question be and why would you ask 
         that specific question?

    6.  If you could solve one specific problem, what would it be and why?

    7.  If you had unlimited resources, what one thing would you do to change the world?

    8.  If you could change one thing in your life what would it be and why?

    9.  Tell us about an event that forever changed you.

    10. What do you believe your purpose in life to be?

     

     

    (II.) Faith

    1.  Tell of a time when your faith guided you.

    2.  What does being a Christian mean to you? How do you live as a Christian in
         your daily walk?

    3.  Tell us about your most life-changing event.

    4.  What will be your role in sharing your faith in post-college/university years?

    5.  What role did the church have in your current faith?

    6.  What faith struggles do persons your age group experience?

    7.  Tell of a time when your faith was tested and how you were changed by the
         event.

    8.  What keeps your faith strong?

    9.  What do you believe is one of your stronger spiritual gifts and how do you
         attempt to use it?

    10. What would you say to someone who has no faith?
