Welcome to Human Rigths Advocacy 101!

All People Thriving’s Human Rights Advocacy course is designed as a primer for seasoned and beginner Human Rights Advocates in the United States. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to human rights, basic human needs and ways to prevent marginalization and disparities among individuals and groups in the development of human centered policies and systems. We’ll explore topics ranging from Civil Rights and protests, to self-care and common pitfalls for Human Rights Advocates to avoid.

Course Overview

This self-guided training includes six (6) modules focused on the following topics:

Introduction to the Role of Human Rights Advocates

Universal Human Rights, Civil Rights and Constitutional Rights

Recognizing Oppression

Human Rights Advocacy Strategies

Building a Human Rights Advocacy Agenda

Self-Care for Human Rights Advocates

At the end of each module, you'll be able to complete a knowledge check in, as well as complete exercises to prepare you for your human rights advocacy journey.

Certificate of Completion

Once you've completed the coursework, you'll have the opportunity to complete a short exam and receive your Human Rights Advocacy Certificate of Completion.

You'll also get access to our Tool Box, which includes documents and templates in Word format that you can edit or change to meet your needs.
