2026 Scholarship Application

The Darien Junior Football League (DJFL) Coleman Mix Scholarship is awarded annually to eligible DHS graduating seniors who have demonstrated leadership, commitment and sportsmanship to the sport of football in the community of Darien.

In order to be eligible for the DJFL Scholarship, you must have accomplished all of the following prerequisites:
- Participated in football for at least one season in the DJFL and for two years while at DHS.
- Graduate of DHS class of 2026.
- Plan to attend a qualifying school beginning in the summer or fall of 2026.
  (a qualifying school for purposes of this application will mean any two year or four year accredited college, trade or technical school or a college preparatory school).

Essay: Please include an essay (up to one page/500 words) discussing how you benefited from your participation in football through your years in the DJFL and at DHS, and the reasons why you believe this has prepared you for college and later on in life. Additionally, discus the reasons why you feel you should be granted a scholarship and what you plan to use the funds for next year. Finally, please include any other matters you feel are important to bring to the Scholarship Committee in making its final decision.*
