VOLUNTEER POLICY 2022
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Sea Sessions. Please read the volunteer policy document and sign the bottom statement before completing your application. This is important to understand what will be expected at the festival.
1. As a volunteer with Sea Sessions you are required to uphold all festival policies including equal rights, discouraging discrimination and promoting inclusivity in all aspects of the events.
2. As a volunteer you will comply with festival policy regarding Child Protection, Health & Safety and public conduct.
3. All volunteers are reminded at this stage that your role is to help us run Sea Sessions 2022. We appreciate that there may be specific attractions you want to see over the festival weekend and will take this into consideration when scheduling shifts. We cannot guarantee that your requests will be met, but we will try!
4. If you are accepted as a volunteer you will receive an acceptance notification once your form has been processed.
5. You will receive further information about training, shift times and details of how to get to the festival site nearer to the festival date.
6. You have responsibility for arranging your own transport to and from the site. Please see the website for more details on how to get to the festival.
Volunteers Terms and Conditions
Age
· All volunteers must be 18 years old on/ before the 17th June 2022
Volunteers Remuneration
· A €150 cash deposit is required on the day of training, this will be returned upon completion of all shifts, on the Sunday before the festival ends.
Volunteer Briefing
· You must be available to attend a full volunteer safety briefing on the evening prior to the event. You will be briefed on festival policy regarding all aspects of safety on site.
This will take place on Thursday 16th June, Time TBC, please do not be late.
If you cannot attend this we must know at this stage of selection.
Hours of Work
· You will work 13 - 15 hours in total over the festival weekend. This will be divided over the days of the festival (Thursday – Sunday). Your commitment to turning up on your allocated shifts is crucial to our ability to ensure the smooth running of events. If you fail to report for your shifts we cannot guarantee your deposit refund. If you have outstanding circumstances, such as illness, injury or a personal, you must make your volunteer coordinator aware of this immediately. Volunteers who cannot complete their shifts due to Covid 19 must show a positive PCR test to have their payment refunded.
Volunteers Shifts
· You must report to the site office 15 minutes prior to your shift for a team briefing. We provide t-shirts, you can doll yourself up as much as you want, but do be prepared for weather! We ask you to arrive ready to start your shift i.e. having eaten, loo, sober etc. We also ask all volunteers to have a standard ‘uniform’ of an all-black outfit packed. If you are working with artists, or back stage with the production crew you need to look professional. This is important.
Alcohol and Substance Misuse
· You must report for your shift showing no signs of alcohol or substance misuse. Failure to do so may result in you forfeiting your ticket refund.
Volunteer Camping
· Volunteers will have an allocated area on the campsite. You are not required to use this, and if you wish to camp with friends you are free to do so. It is worth noting this is specifically for volunteers and guests are not permitted.
Volunteer Meal Breaks
· You will be issued with a food voucher at the end of your shift each day.
