IMplementing MEasuRes for Sustainable Estuaries
North Sea Region estuaries are dynamic environments subject to persistent and increasing pressures, such as modified tidal ranges, increased flooding, and high sedimentation rates, which impact estuary functions and services.
To address these pressures, management measures often require large investments, long planning periods and stakeholder commitment.
The IMMERSE project addresses these challenges by:
exploring ideas and solutions,
feasibility studies and testing
planning for implementation
International cooperation facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences on technical and governance issues. Similarly, stakeholder engagement will also lead to increased acceptance and thus more efficient implementation of measures.
Join us in Antwerp form 23-24th March to celebrate IMMERSE's success and work together towards sustainable estuaries.
Note: Being a disemination event, attendees external to the IMMERSE partnership are welcome and encouraged to attend. The whole conference experience is free for participants (incl. breaks, lunch, network dinner and site visit with lunch). Only travel to/from Antwerp and a hotel booking are at attendee's own cost.
