DAYSCHOOL - What is that??
While most conventional daycares allow your dogs to linger in groups with other players who may teach them poor habits, our dayshcool environment keeps dogs busy with a multitude of training drills and scenarios to prevent the development of unwanted behaviors. This also sends your dog home each day happy, tired, and with a new skill or improved behavior management program!

Traditional group daycare has its place in contributing to the dog world. For many dogs and their owners, it is the only outlet of energy for those dog folks with a full-time work schedule or routinely travel and can't feasibly bring their best friend along for the ride. However, depending on the daycare dynamic, we eventually begin to see a decline in good behavior and an upswing in behavior vices (reactivty on-leash, esource guarding, excitability, lack of impulse control, crate training setbacks, etc.) We can now see how delicate the balance is in maintaining a supportive environment for the dogs in our care.

In our Dayschool program, your dog will spend their day participating in numerous basic obedience drills including vocabulary cues such as the foundation skills: sit, down, stay, come, place along with some extra fun task-oriented skills like retrieving items, hunting scent for items, and even fun parlor tricks like bow, wave, spin, high 5, crawl, and more!

LIMITED OPENINGS: Due to the nature of our custom training program, we can only accommodate a maximum of 5 dogs per day. Which is why it is important to book your days in advance whenever possible. We try to be as accommodating as possible to all of our clients and will make exceptions on days when we have the means to do so. Please bear this in mind when booking.

Please only fill this out after you have submitted the New Client form along with your dog's current vaccinations. Dayschool is provided from 6am to 6pm Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays, and 6am to 4pm on Fridays. (Mondays are available on an intermittent basis.) Extended hours until 8pm are available upon request for an after-hours fee. We are happy to accommodate an alternative schedule when you need it, we just ask you let us know in advance to help us work with you.

Reservation requests are final upon confirmation from us that your pup is on our calendar. Due to the nature of our limited availability, please make requests at least 48 hours in advance to ensure success with booking.

I,   First Name*   Last Name*   hereinafter referred to as "Owner" hereby retain Mallory Robinson of The Diligent Dog, hereinafter referred to as "Trainer," to train Dog's Name* hereinafter referred to as "Dog."

1. The Diligent Dog will endeavor to create as safe an environment as possible for the training and board of my Dog and will offer only sound, safe, and responsible training and training instructions. However, I recognize that The Diligent Dog is not responsible for any unintentional errors, omissions, or incorrect assertions. I understand that the recommendation of any product or service is not a guarantee of my satisfaction with that product or service. Further, I am and will remain responsible for the actions of my dog at all times and I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mallory Robinson and The Diligent Dog of any and all claims of injury, expense, costs, or damages caused by the actions of my dog while under the instruction or control of The Diligent Dog, and under my own care as a result of following training instructions.

2. I authorize Emergency medical care to be provided for my dog by an appropriate veterinary clinic to be determined by Trainer. I understand I am responsible for any and all veterinary costs and agree to reimburse Trainer for any charges incurred related to emergency care.

3. I authorize Trainer to administer and seek First Aid and resuscitative care for my dog as determined appropriate by Trainer and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trainer for any and all results thereof.

4. I understand that all dogs will be boarded at Trainer’s home address and I give The Diligent Dog, its owners, operators, trainers, and/or staff permission to transport my Dog for training purposes. I further understand the inherent risks associated with transportation such as, but not limited to, loss or injury due to accident; owner agrees to assume all risks and financial costs associated with said transportation.

5. I understand that my dogs will be trained using positive reinforcement methods. I also understand that although my Dog will learn multiple behaviors, basic obedience, new routines, and management while in the care of The Diligent Dog, it is my responsibility to maintain this learning upon returning to their home environment. Dogs do not generalize well. This means that the behaviors taught while in the care of The Diligent Dog will only be solidified through clear, calm and consistent repetition once at home. Trainer recommends owners commit to continued education through private instruction to solidify training.

6. I understand that the Dayschool program is intended to promote the training of puppies and dogs without significant behavior deficits. By signing below, I agree that any fearful or aggressive behavior from my Dog has been discussed with Trainer. If my Dog does display fearful or aggressive behavior, I also understand this may set back the timeline for training and require added patience to promote long term success. I understand Trainer will discuss all available options, including possible training options outside of Dayschool should Trainer feel it is in the best interest of my Dog's long term training goals.

7. I understand the Dayschool program is not intended to remediate vice behaviors including but not limited to fearful avoidance, people aggression, animal aggression, dog aggression, reactivity, potty training, or separation distress. I understand the Dayschool program is strictly intended to socialize and encourage positive interpersonal skills with other dogs and people while learning manners and foundation cues, unless otherwise discussed with Trainer. I understand that in the event I have omitted any information about my Dog's bite history, I will forfeit my Dog's training period without refund.

8. I understand that due to the fluid nature of behavior development, no guarantees are made for my Dog's training period. I understand that it is up to the discretion of the Trainer to determine whether additional training time may be beneficial, at which point this option will be offered at no additional cost to me. By signing below, I agree that I have been given the opportunity to discuss this facet of learning prior to purchasing my Dog's training program.

9. I agree to forego the use of any tools, equipment, or training methods not directly approved by Trainer. I understand using conflicting tools, equipment, or training methods can create confusion, and may undermine the dog's success with training. If it is found that the client is using tools, equipment, or methods not directly approved by Trainer, I understand it is grounds for termination of the contract, without refund.
