This survey is part of the Mad in America “Suicide Hotline Transparency Project”, a project with the goal of increasing transparency around call tracing in the suicide hotline industry. This project was born out of the belief that creating transparency and public access around Suicide Hotline intervention and call tracing policies should be a priority. This would provide people in suicidal distress with the resources and information they need to make an informed choice about hotlines to call, particularly since call tracing, for some, can lead to traumatizing, or even lethal, interventions.
This survey is open to anyone who has used a suicide hotline in the United States in the past twelve months.
What to expect: This survey will ask you 10 questions about your experiences using suicide hotlines. It should take about 10 minutes to complete.
How the results will be used: The responses from this survey will be read and analyzed by Mad in America volunteers and staff Álvaro Gamio Cuervo, Maggie Leppert, and Karin Jervert, as well as members of the Trans Lifeline team. We will use the insight gained from your anonymous input for educational and awareness purposes on Mad in America's website, social media and other Mad in America media channels. Responses from the survey may be quoted directly, without names.
Privacy: This survey is completely anonymous. We will not trace your IP address or collect identifying personal information without your express knowledge and consent under any circumstances. If you choose to disclose identifying information in your responses, that information will not be published. On the last page, you can choose to leave your name and contact information if you are willing to be interviewed further. If you do not want to share that information, please leave that section blank- it is not required!! Thank you so much for your responses!!
We deeply value your time, effort, and vulnerability. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at transparencyproject@madinamerica.com.
